Sebastián Picker
born 1956 Santiago, Chile; lives Santiago, Chile
In 1974, Picker enrolled in The Art Institute of Boston as well as the Massachusetts College of Art, but after studying briefly at both institutions, he decided to leave his formal studies behind. He adopted a self-taught approach, exploring and developing his skills independently and experimenting with various media, including sculpture. In 1975, at age 19, he had his first solo exhibition at Gallery 355 in Boston, United States.
Picker has exhibited in numerous museums and galleries in several countries of the Americas and Europe such as Spain, France, the United States, Mexico, Colombia, Venezuela, among others. His work has been auctioned at Christie's and he has participated in principal art fairs over the years.
He currently works and lives in Santiago de Chile.
