BiographyIna Balin was born Ina Rosenberg before being adopted by her stepfather and changing her last name. She was a well known actress on the stage, film, and television. Balin had numerous television and film roles including some with celebrities such as Elvis Presley. In 1959 Balin won the Theater World Award for A Majority One and in 1961 she won a Golden Globe and was nominated for another for her role in From the Terrace. Balin was involved in the civil rights movement by speaking and participating in many marches including the 1965 march from Selma to Montgomery.
