BiographyJosephine Diggs, who went by Jo Diggs was born in 1936 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. - A move to Albuquerque, NM in the 1960s introduced her to a vibrant artist community, cotton fabric from Mexico and Molas made by the indigenous people of Panama. This convergence was the foundation of Diggs' career as a fiber artist and later as a contemporary quilter well-known for her layered fabric landscapes and publications of her work launched her career in contemporary art textiles.She is known for hand-stitched appliqué quilted landcapes that rely heavily on hand-dyed fabrics. Her quilts are in collections including the National Quilt Museum.
