BiographyIone Coriz was born in 1973 to Arthur and Hilda Coriz of Santo Domingo Pueblo. Her family consists of well-known potters, including her uncle, Robert Tenorio, who reintroduced pottery making at Santo Domingo after it almost died out in the 1950s. In 1988, Coriz earned a 3rd place ribbon in the 18 & under division at the Santa Fe Indian Market. She went back in 1989 to earn a 2nd place ribbon in the same division. After high school, she married Warren Coriz, and he soon became a distinguished Santo Domingo potter.
