BiographyA popular violinist during the mid-20th Century who played his $100,000 Stradivarius violin on radio programs, in theaters, the White House, and especially in schools. He arrived in the United States in 1931 and was signed by NBC to play on the radio and conduct an orchestra. His orchestra included Benny Goodman, Tommy Dorsey, and Glenn Miller. He dedicated his life to promoting a love for music in young people and performed at thousands of schools.
