Mitzi Zoske Brady
1880 - 1967 Albuquerque, New Mexico
In Ward Alan Minge's 2001 manuscript he writes, "She had retired from owning an antique shop in downtown Chicago, and had opened Albuquerque’s first such shop in Old Town where we met her. She had been raised on White River near the Rosebud Reservation, South Dakota, where her folks set up ranching after traveling from Minnesota by wagon when she was only six. Her experiences there were followed by colorful careers in New York, Chicago, and now, New Mexico. She sold only the finest and was admired by many for her impeccable taste and especially for her conversations and stories. She described herself as “bookish.” She had been involved with literary movements in Chicago which caught the attention of H.L. Mencken with whom she corresponded."
