BiographyCharles Owen Smithers was born in Kalispell, Montana, in 1893. He attended the University of Montana in Missoula and moved to Butte at the age of 26. He worked as a photographer and opened Smithers and Son Photography which was later run by his son Charles Owen, Junior. C. Owen served in both World War I and World War II. He died March 1, 1973 in Butte, Montana.
