DescriptionThis rectangular metal clipboard, heavily worn and tarnished, features a sturdy spring-loaded clip at the top with a hole for hanging. Faintly etched or stamped numbers are present on the surface, though partially obscured by wear. The utilitarian design suggests it was used for holding freight records, shipping documents, or inventory logs in the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railway (ATSF) freight office. The ATSF Railway played a significant role in shaping commerce and transportation in Albuquerque and the greater Southwest. Freight offices were essential for coordinating shipments of goods, livestock, and materials across the country. On View
