DescriptionThis pocket watch is set into a cuvette silver case. There are two dials in the face, one tracking minuets and the other seconds. The back of the exterior case has the initials, "NBF," etched into the surface in a frilly cuvette. The inside of the rear cover has, "24 h" and "SWISS 23394" stamped into it. The rear cuvette cover has, "34 H" and "SWISS 23394" stamped into it, and the movement has "TIFFANY & CO." stamped onto it. The watch originally belonged to attorney Neil B. Field of Albuquerque. After Field's death, it was given by his widow to the mother (who worked for the Field Family) of David Lopez, Jr. It was then donated to the church by a member of the Lopez family, and subsequently offered to the Museum by Father Thomas Steele.The descendants of Albuquerque resident David Lopez donated this Tiffany pocket watch, originally owned by Albuquerque attorney Neil B. Field, to the Immaculate Conception Church. Field is known for helping to draft a bill, along with African-American stenographer Fred Simms and attorney Bernard S. Rodey, to create the University of New Mexico.
