DescriptionA gold pocket watch in a hunting and cuvette case with a short, gold, Albert T-bar chain. The exterior case covering the dial has a design engraved into its face, two claw-like arms reaching up to grasp a crescent shape. This front cover hinges at the left side, with its crown and bow on the right. To open the case, the crown musty be pushed in, releasing its inner hinge.

There are two dial faces beneath a crystal covering. The large dial has roman numerals, I through XII, increasing at increments of one. The small dial, set into the bottom of the larger dial beneath the hands, is another dial tracking seconds, with 10 through 60, increasing by increments of ten. Above the larger dial's hands is an inscription, " DONNE LONDON 1815."

The back case is engraved with a decorative "H." The back case also hinges at the left, revealing a second inner case, a cuvette, when lifted. The cuvette has a long inscription engraved, "PRESENTED BY THE MEMBERS OF THE PRIMROSE LITERARY SOCIETY, TO Counciller Hammersley. AS MARK OF ESTEEM & IN ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF HIS FAITHFUL SERVICE AS CHAIRMAN OF COMMITTEE. PRIMROSE HALL. 1st Dec: 1890."

On the interior sides of the exterior case and cuvette are a series of stamps, "PW" and "1815." Lifting the cuvette reveals the watch's movement and more inscriptions, "Donne & Son 1815. Birchin Lane. Cornhill. London."

The watch is stored in a jewelry box lined with velvet.
