DescriptionThis is a diamond-based cast-iron sadiron with two perpendicular handles affixed to a removable asbestos-lined hood. The larger, vertical handle typical of other irons is affixed to the top of the iron's hood with a small space in between to reduce heat conduction into the handle. A smaller, horizontal handle is affixed to the sides of the iron's hood and was likely used to clasp onto the removable heating element located at the bottom of the object. On View
