DescriptionLow adobe walls and the museum at Coronado State Monument in Bernalillo, New Mexico. The museum is a single-story building with casement windows. The Sandia Mountains are in the background.
A typed caption on the back of the photograph reads, "Teh ancient Pueblo of Kuaua, on the east bank of teh Rio Grande across from the town of Bernalillo, now stands as Coronado State Monument. It was in this vicinity that the Spanish Explorer and his little army spent the winter of 1540-1541. The buildings in the foreground are the museum and custodian's quarters. In the distance are the Sandia Mountains, a part of the Rocky Mountain chain."
