A cut-out of a city or a castle is installed on top of the mountain as a Christmas decoration. A typed caption on the back of the photograph reads, "New Mexico's vast coal deposits exceed those of Pennsylvania, and annual production is valued at more than $3,000,000. This photo shows the tipple at the Madrid mines, near Santa Fe, New Mexico. Madrid is one of the oldest continuous coal producers in the state, mining hard and soft coal."On View
