DescriptionTwo-story wooden houses line a paved road through Madrid, New Mexico. The houses are wooden-sided with peaked roofs. The wooden exterior walls are white with sun-bleached planks where the paint has flaked off. There is an abandoned mine works on the hill behind the houses, near the right background. There is a large shadow of a house behind the camera is in the foreground and lower left corner of the frame. An abandoned, rusted car is parked in the high grass in the partially-shadowed foreground.
