DescriptionThis cast copper sombrero-shaped ashtray or ash tray, inscribed or stamped "Fred Harvey Company," features a dented cone-shaped crown and an upturned brim. The reverse is a lighter gold color, and has the name "M. K. Dunn" scrated into the underbrim. The Fred Harvey Company was at the center of early-to-mid twentieth century tourism in the Southwest and objects like this sort to symbolize the area and the culture within it, stereotyping Indigenous and Mexican culture in the process.
