DescriptionA Lockheed Fleetster with tail number NC 700V is refueling at the Albuquerque Airport in Albuquerque, New Mexico. In the center frame, there is a parked, single-engine, high-wing aircraft being fueled by a man on the top-center of the wing. The plane is right-side facing in the frame. The fuselage has two stars painted behind the wing. Another man is crouching on the ground near the fueling vault. Two small doors are open at fuel vault in the ground.
Handwriting on the back of the photograph reads, "1931 General Trubee Davidson; Fleetster by Lockheed. Asst Sec'y of War. Only log entry shows NC700K Fleetster owned by U.S. Army w/2 crew members (Sohn pilot) in here 4/21/31 Picture shows stars for Major General This is NC700V." Also, "Acc to "An Airport is Born" Maj Gen. JG Fecher visited Apr 21, '30 - same date, diff. man."
