DescriptionThis circular political campaign pin has a white background with red block text reading "SIMMS / FOR / GOVERNOR." The reverse is blank and a sharp pin protrudes below. John F. Simms (December 18, 1916 - April 11, 1975) served as the sixteenth Governor of New Mexico between 1955 and 1957. A member of the Democratic Party, Simms also served as New Mexico State Representative from 1947 to 1951. This pin represents an important piece of political memorabilia, reflecting aspirations and the broader support for his leadership within New Mexico and beyond.
