DescriptionThis round political campaign pin promotes Gloria Lyons for the judge. The pin has a white background with bold black text reading “GLORIA LYONS FOR JUDGE” in a serif font. A metal pin back is attached to the reverse, allowing the button to be securely worn. Gloria Lyons campaigned for a judicial position when Albuquerque’s legal system was evolving to meet the demands of a growing metropolitan area in the 1970s. While her election bid was unsuccessful, Lyons continued her work as an attorney and practicing in the United States Court of Appeals in New Mexico and Arizona. Political memorabilia such as this pin encouraged voter participation.
