DescriptionThis campaign button was produced for David F. Cargo, who served as New Mexico's 22nd governor from 1967 to 1971. As governor, Cargo starred in multiple Hollywood films and called the National Guard on students protesting the Vietnam War in 1970, which resulted in eleven University of New Mexico students being bayoneted. The button is mostly white with blue and red text. Text reads "VOTE/David F. Cargo/for/GOVERNOR."
