DescriptionThe Barnett Building housing the United States Post Office on the ground floor located between 221 and 223 South Second Street in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Mounted riders pose in the dirt road in front of the brick multi-story building with rounded windows. Seven individuals sit on the back of horses, six of which wear official uniforms with double-breasted jackets with round metal buttons or ornately embroidered appliqué loops, plumed hats or military style billed caps, and white gloves. The other gentlemen wear a bowler hat, slack suit with a pocket watch chain dangling from his vest, and a mustache. John Borradaile is the uniformed rider on the white horse, third from the left. Standing on the sidewalk in front of the U.S. Post Office are three onlookers behind the horsemen. The ground floor of the Barnett Building has large storefront windows and a striped canopy over one of the windows. Above them says, " U.S. POST OFFICE."

Emulsion deterioration is occurring on the glass plate causing distortion and emulsion loss. The left side of the plate is broken.
