DescriptionThe interior of the Bank of Commerce located at 201-207 West Railroad Avenue in the N.T. Armijo Building in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Various employees pose from behind and in front of the teller's cage. The cage is made of carved wood with rod iron detailing or glass over the windows. At the far left stands Willard S. Strickler, a cashier, who leans back, elbows on the teller cage ledge, holds his hands at his trouser pockets, and looks towards the camera. He wears three-piece slacksuit with a starched white collar and tie. There is a pocket watch chain spanning across is vest. He has a large mustache and his hair is cut short and slicked back. Beside him and behind the cashier’s cage is another man in a slack suit, starched collar, mustache, and bowtie. On the right, outside the cage is presumably Dr. G.W. Harrison, the bank's president, also in a slacksuit, starched white collar and tie. He looks down at something in his hands and leans a right elbow on the cashier's ledge. Two more gentlemen stand behind the teller's cage. On the floor there are two small urn-like pots. Railroad Avenue's name was changed around 1908 to what is now Central Avenue. Central Avenue also overlaps with the historic Route 66.
Silver mirroring and emulsion deterioration is occurring on the glass plate creating color distortion and emulsion loss.
