DescriptionR.L. Dodson (a bicycle dealer and owner of the car), Mr. Trotter, Booth Bell, and Mr. Kenneworth sit in Dodson's 1899 Locomobile. The locomobile is covered with bunting and American flags and is parked on West Silver Avenue in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The James L. Bell and Co. storefront is in the background. Seven men are standing along the sidewalk behind them wearing three-piece suits (one with a velvet lapel and two in pinstripes), bowler, Homberg, and straw boater hats, bowties, and starched separable collars. One man in the background to the furthest right holds a cigarette in his fingers.

Silver mirroring and emulsion deterioration is occurring on the glass plate creating color distortion and emulsion loss.
