DescriptionPortrait of Gertrude Eakin wearing a dark, short-sleeved dress with a long pearl necklace. Her dress has a tiered flounced collar and is set off the shoulders. She is wearing a fur-collared cape over her right shoulder with sparkling detail on the interior. She is standing in front of a curtain backdrop in Cobb Studio in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Her hair is piled into a high chignon bun with the back of the hair left down in curled ringlets. She wears a ring and bracelet high on her left forearm. The skirt of the dress has embroidered and appliquéd flowers. She is looking toward the left of the camera, nearly in profile.

Gertrude Eakin was an Albuquerque resident and community member. She married a Kentuckian, Henry Droppleman, in 1908 who was in the mercantile business and settled in Albuquerque in 1917.
