DescriptionThis campaign button was created for Robert A. Taft’s 1952 bid for the Republican presidential nomination. Taft served as a U.S. Senator from Ohio from 1939 to 1953. During his time in office, he co-sponsored the Taft–Hartley Act of 1947, which restricted closed shops, introduced right-to-work states, and regulated various labor practices. Despite his repeated efforts to secure the Republican nomination, Taft never had the chance to run for president. However, he left a lasting impact on the party, often clashing with the more moderate Republicans for control of its direction. The button is red, white and blue, with white and blue text. The text reads "WIN / WITH / TAFT."On View
