DescriptionThis campaign badge features a vibrant yellow base color and reads "RE-ELECT" in smaller yellow lettering and " KEN SCHULTZ / "MAYOR" in large, bold, eye-catching black lettering. This text is within a thinly lined black rectangle frame, with the words on the outside of the rectangle on the top portion of the badge reading "Experience Counts" and the bottom portion reading "Albuquerque Wins Again / With Ken" in black serifed lettering. Below this reads, "Paid for by the Committee to Re-elect Ken Shultz Mayor / Paul Goldenberg, Treasurer • Printed by Pip Printing, Uptown." To promote his re-election after serving as mayor of Albuquerque from 1985 to 1989, Ken Schultz (1937-2019) utilized campaign pins and badges but ultimately lost to his opponent, Louis Saavedra (1933-2009). Given his background in serving on the Albuquerque City Council from 1981 to 1985 and serving as the former Mayor of Albuquerque, Schultz impacted aspects like crime prevention and infrastructure development in the city.
