DescriptionThis printing plate for Bernalillo County Retail Liquor Dealers Association has a large square wooden base with a metal surface embossed on one side. Around a central image of a burning torch with the italicized words "Moderation Education", raised purple text indicates that the block was used at by the Bernalillo County Retail Liquor Dealers Association with the text in a circle around the central image. Now part of New Mexico Retail Liquor Dealers Association, these groups were dedicated to representing liquor retailers in Bernalillo in legislative discussions. One impactful moment in this history was in 1981, when New Mexico passed a liquor reform act which comprehensively reformed license sales and their distribution across New Mexico while allowing institutions to sell their liquor licenses to keep prices down.On View
