White paintings line the side of the glass, with a dragon located in the bottom right-hand corner. The top and sides of the main compartment of the clock have large, flat, wooden panels whose edges have been carved into protruding decorative patterns. A roundel with a floral motif inside is visible on the upper panel near the top of the object. The clock sits upon a rectangular base that has repeating botanical motifs carved onto the sides. An engraved pendulum with an eagle on its surface is present with the object, along with a winding key and two newspaper scraps related to clock repair.
