DescriptionThis object is a Dental Aspirating Syringe used to administer local anesthesia during dental procedures. The object has a wide, horizontal plunger at the top, with two, slightly curved metal flanges on opposite sides located just below. The cylindrical barrel of the syringe is open on one side, with a large oval-shaped hole on the reverse side. "NOVOCOL CHEM CO. / BROOKLYN.N.Y. / PATAPPLD.FOR / F / PATENT NO.1.839.695" is stamped below the hole on the lower barrel. The tip of the object has a very small, cylindrical socket with exterior screw-like serrations in order to insert various needle tips. There is very little to no corrosion visible on the object.
