DescriptionThis is a stereoscope made of wood, tin, glass, and leather. This stereoscope has a long, fairly thin, horizontal base on which all other parts are attached. The viewing section is attached to the front of this base, and is shaped like a pair of large goggles with two square glass panes in the center of each side. A piece of wood stands between each of the panes on the front of the goggles. The outer edge is lined in red velvet and is curved to cup the face. Underneath the base is a long handle with a curved tip, there is a hinge were the handle can be folded for storage or to make it easier to hold. At the back of the base is a horizontal stand with two metal bars vertically attached to either end. This piece is where a pair of stereoscopic images can be placed to be viewed. Stamped into the top of the goggles is the logo for: "THE PERFECSCOPE", and "H.C. WHITE & CO."
