DescriptionThis object is a square-framed brass washboard. A flat section of wood is located above the metal ridges, with "No. 40 - Two in One BRASS" painted on the front of the object in faded black and red paint, and "STANDARD FAMILY SIZE - 'Made of Hardwood' - Manufactured by CAROLINA WASHBOARD CO. - RALEIGH, N.C." Four metal nails are visible on the reverse side of the object's frame. The reverse side of the object has four vertical cylindrical wooden spokes crossing the brass washplate. Object sits on two wooden legs protruding from the bottom of the board which were used to position the object in a laundry basin or tub.On View
