The axle of the large, curved-spoke wheel is affixed to the grinding screw, which is located inside the hopper. The wheel has a metal handle protruding from one of the spokes in order to hand-operate the object. Corn is fed into the hopper and ground into meal by the turning of the screw inside. Ground corn is emptied onto the flat collection tray underneath the hopper, which has funneled sides. Text stamped underneath the hopper on the base of the object reads: "THE GEO.
