DescriptionThis object is a Pugio Blade, a small dagger often used by Roman soldiers as a sidearm. The blade itself is short and gradually narrows towards the tip. The incomplete bronze haft of the blade is likely a later addition or reproduction, and has sharp, jagged edges towards the bottom of the object. Green patina is visible across the surface of the object's blade and haft. Two ivory fragments are included with the object, and were likely pieces of the blade's handle.On View
