DescriptionThis syringe was used for veterinary practices and services. The syringe is made of metal and glass and is mostly shaped like a long vertical cylinder. The top of the syringe includes a circular handle that tapers down before connecting to a short cylinder with ridges around the outside. This top part is attached to a metal tube with a spring coiled around it, this is used to pull and push liquid in or out of the syringe. The main body of the syringe is made up of another short cylinder with ridges at the top with metal arches situated just underneath to give a better grip. The main body is shaped like a long metal tube, part of the metal has also been cut out and replaced with glass so the inside spring and compartment can be seen. The bottom of the syringe has several cylinders that get continually smaller before ending in a short narrow tube. This end is where a needle or another tube can be placed. On the side of the syringe the maker "B-D CHAMPION / BECTON, DICKINSON, & CO." and "B.T.V." is engraved into the metal.
