DescriptionThis hand-held small metal object comprised of a central, rectangular shaft with two crescent-shaped finger holds on each end. The shaft itself is intersected by two appendages. The first is a carefully tuned acoustic cylinder, which emits a specific frequency when struck by the hammer regulator, located on a hinge in the center of the central shaft. The motion of the hammer is limited by a small rest located on the opposite side of the central shaft of the acoustic cylinder. There is a small hole located near the bottom finger rest for the insertion of a bone conduction attachment that is missing. "HASLAM" and "GERMANY" are stamped on one side of both finger rests. Object shows very little signs of corrosion aside from small scratches and blemishes from use. Object was used to emit a known frequency to measure hearing ability or loss and could be placed near the ear or on the skull via the bone conduction plate. On View
