Description1. I'm very sorry not to have the mining slides I tried to obtain for this showing. The three I have came from Frank & are far from his best but I'll substitute them, anyway. Here you see storage bins at the plant of Homestead Sapin Partners in the Grants, N.M. uranium field. Uranium was discovered in the Grants area in 1950 by a Navajo Indian. Almost half of the uranium oxide produced in the entire U.S. comes from N.M.2. The Kennecott Copper Co. in southern N.M., which is a leading state in copper, as well as in petroleum, natural gas, & potash, besides uranium. The value of N.M.'s annual mineral production is close to $700,000,000, making the state truly a leader in mining.
3. A group of mining student, in typical mining country!
