DescriptionThis image depicts the inside of one of the rooms in the gift shop at La Placita in Old Town Albuquerque, New Mexico. The room itself is made of adobe and is cracked and worn in many places. A door way leading to another part of the shop is in the dead-center of the frame. Through this doorway is a shelving unit filled with both shoes and shoe boxes. Immediately to the right of the doorway, on the doorframe, is a frame painting of a peacock and a string of flowers, pinecones, and other flora can be seen. To the right of this is a fireplace. The surrounding adobe outside of the fireplace has been blackened from use. To the left of the doorway is an entire wall of shelves with various porcelain figures, plates, statues, bowls, pots, and different types of glass wear for sale. Above the door frame is what appears to be a small wooden cross. Over the fireplace, on the right side of the image, are two small shelves with glass cups, wine glasses, jars, plates, and bowls for sale. On the mantel of the fireplace are four decorative plates with flowers on them. On a table in front of the fireplace, a stack of sombreros, a metal or stone statue, and a glass jar are visible. On View
