DescriptionA gouache study for the UNM Center for the Fine Arts carpet. The design is rectangular with concentric bands of white an orange framing a thin vertical strip of red in the center. Thin turquoise lines running vertically over these bands are speckled with several small orange circles. Maroon-colored fern-leaf shapes are spaced evenly along the left and ride sides, with their tapering curled ends pointing toward center. Each "leaf" features thin turquoise veins in its interior. At bottom is an index of color daubs, or swatches, corresponding to the colors used in the sketch. On View
