DescriptionA ski instructor gives a push to a young ski student at Sandia Peak Ski School in the Sandia Mountains east of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Three young children stand in a line and the fourth child is sking without poles in the snow while the instructor watches. All four children are wearing snow suits and child-sized skis. The instructor wears a sweater and ski pants. She is wearing ski boots, but stands on a piece of cloth on the snow. A snow fence and leafless trees are in the background. A caption on the back of the photograph reads, "“Learn to ski in your own backyard,” is the motto of the Sandia Peak Ski School. Sandia Peak, just 30 minutes from Albuquerque, is the closest ski area to a major metropolitan city in the United States."
