DescriptionA group of motorettes sits around a dining table in a lunch counter in Albuquerque, New Mexico. There are about twenty-four people in the room and many of them are women wearing their motorette uniforms of a khaki jacket and long skirt with a cap. They have dining sets in front of them at the table. A man in a suit is seated near the end of the table on the left and there are several men standing in the back corner of the room. Coffee cups and other dishes are stacked behind a long wooden lunch counter near three metal water or coffee dispensers. The table is covered in a white tablecloth. Coats are hanging on pegs along the wall near the right of the frame. There is a large double wooden door in the back of the room. Everyone is turning to face the camera. Some of the people are identfied with handwriting over their heads: Waters (second from left on left side of table), Irwin (second from left on right side of table), and Wilds (Iva Wilds, sixth from left on left side of the table).On View
