DescriptionA colorful print with a horse drawn carriage carrying a bell suspended from a rope. Satirical caricatures of an American colonist and Native American male stand on either side of the bell as another caricature of a black-faced figure drives the chariot with reins in his hand. The figure of Betsy Ross perches high in the carriage while sewing the U.S. flag. Icons of George Washington and Abraham Lincoln adorn the sides of the carriage. Above, a football player rides a bicycle across the rope from which the bell is suspended, his helmet covering his eyes. The sky is filled with clouds and fireworks.
