DescriptionThis wooden perma-plaque displays the proclamation of Bob Hope's Regalo de Educacion Award given for his services to encouraging continuing education. It has a black exterior border, an interior red and gold leafed design with a gold circular medal sticker in the lower left with a red and orange ribbon. The statement reads: “Whereas, we wish to insure that young people in New Mexico/have every opportunity for exposure to post-secondary education; and/whereas, it is recognized that entertainers often have an/exceptional influence in encouraging continuing education;/now, therefore, I, Bruce King, Governor of the State of New/Mexico, do hereby award to:/Bob Hope/the Regalo de Educación Award in recognition of the exceptional contri-/bution made toward post-secondary education in New Mexico./Done at the Executive Office/this 14th Day of December, 1973./Witness my hand and the great/seal of the State of New Mexico/[signed] Bruce King/Governor/Attest [signed]/Betty Fiorina/Secretary of State.”On View
