DescriptionThis object is a commemorative glass platter dedicated to the United States' Centennial Celebration in 1876. Two protrusions on the narrower ends of the platter are shaped to resemble human hands holding two cylindrical handles topped with decorative glass knobs. An embossed image of Memorial Hall in Philadelphia is present at the base of the plate. "CONTINENTAL / 1776 / 1876" is embossed around the image. The image itself is surrounded by a ring of decorative diamond-cut and circular patterns. The outer edge of the plate presents large stamped text reading "GIVE US THIS DAY / OUR DAILY BREAD."
