DescriptionA silver bracelet with repeating bands of chevrons framing hammered triangles. Oriented perpendicular to the bracelet form, the undulating bands of chevrons are comprised of four parallel lines each and whose repetition yields alternating voids of diamond-like shapes. The latter are intermittently punctuated with triangle motifs pointing toward a common center, somewhat reminiscent of a Maltese cross. As the artist has noted previously, many of her handmade, steel-die stamps were inherited from her father, famed silversmith Thomas Curtis. Originally, Jennifer Curtis hallmarked her pieces in the traditional style (“J. Curtis”), but eventually transitioned to using “Jennifer,” as seen on the reverse here, in order to more clearly distinguish her work as that of a woman artist.
