DescriptionThis mass-produced, fringed souvenir vest, printed in colored inks on red cotton flannel with Western and Native American themes, illustrates Zuni Knifewing birds, thunderbirds, deer, and Native Americans on horses with bows and arrows against a colorful landscape. The backside of the vest features a Native American man facing right and wearing a colorful headdress with "Albuquerque, N.M." highlighted at the bottom in large yellow lettering. This vest was likely included in the souvenirs sold in shops in Albuquerque along Central Avenue and 4th Street during the mid-twentieth century. On View
