DescriptionEmpire style cast brass candlestick, one of pair. Three sided base with 3 lion paw feet. Center of each base side has recessed almost square panel framing raised religious figure. Could be:(1) San Antonio holding Christ child

(3) Melquisedec (biblical prefigurment of Christ) holding a chalice with a cross emerging from it.
Above the base = rounded, fluted/scored stand supporting a scored/fluted column which in turn supports a saucer decorated with scoring/fluting at base and around circular rim. Plain cylindrical socket rises from saucer. Base is cast in 3 pieces, soldered. Lower stand above base and column cast separately from 2 molds each piece. Saucer appears to be cast in 1 piece. All parts are joined with iron center rod and can be turned but not taken apart.
