Descriptionmall rectangular pine candle box with removable front panel. Made of 3 pieces of wood sawn, chiseled, and hand planed. Front panel = 1 piece. Planed wood with small horizontally oriented rectangular finger hold gouged/chiseled at one end for sliding lid. Box body primarily crafted of single rectangular block of wood, cut along each side and hollowed out. Lid slides into groove hand cut along each side and rests on hand chiseled bottom lip. Top back of box protrudes above height of lid with 2 parallel drilled holes for hanging. Top closure of box is created by insertion of small rectangular block of wood fastened to a nailed board box created by vertical grooves along front of box close to sliding lid and along edges (front and back) of box. Leather thong inserted through drilled top holes for hanging.On View
