DescriptionThis political button was produced for Dennis Chávez and Antonio M. Alarid, who were both prominent figures in the New Mexico state legislature in the mid-20th century. Chávez and Alarid were both members of the Democratic Party, who fought passionately for the rights of workers and farmers in New Mexico and the United States. The button is mostly red with a gold border and detailing. There is a gold Zia symbol in the middle of the button with "CHAVEZ" written above and "ALARID" written below.
