DescriptionThis image depicts a publicity photograph of Sam Garcia (center) and his band, Garcia's Rumba Band, sitting on a stage with their musical instruments at 2815 Lincoln Park Avenue in Los Angeles, California. The band consists of four men. The instruments they are playing include maracas, bongos, a trumpet, and the drums. A single microphone sits in front of the group. The group sits behind a small fence made of bamboo. A small sign on the fence reads "Rumba - Matinee Every Sunday. Free Instructions 3 P.M. to 6 P.M. Conga. Tango". The writing on the back of the photograph reads "Sam Garcia. 2815 Lincoln Park Ave. C.A. 4930. Los Angeles California. Garcia's Rumba Band. The piano player sings -solos and with trios. The trumpet player double violin and sings -solos and with trios. The drummer sings with trios. We play Rumba tangos and Conga and Spanish folk songs and American music.
