DescriptionEdmund Cobb stands in a large group of actors and actresses outdoors in Albuquerque, New Mexico. They gather around an open top vehicle parked outside a grassy wooded park. Edmund stands in the front center with a bowler hat and light-colored suit, a dark vest and starched white collar. He leans on a cane and has dramatic makeup on his face. Edmund Cobb was the eldest of Eddie Ross Cobb and William Cobb’s four children. The Cobb family owned a photography shop, Cobb Studio, in New Town, Albuquerque, New Mexico. Edmund was named after his grandfather, Edmund G. Ross, the territorial governor of New Mexico from 1885 to 1889. Edmund Cobb was an actor and performed in early silent films in Albuquerque, Colorado, and Chicago. He eventually went to Hollywood and became a western film actor in 1915, and was known for performing “dare-devil tricks” and stunts such as riding bucking horses.
Emulsion deterioration is occurring on the glass plate causing color distortion and emulsion loss.
