DescriptionThe German Shepherd, Rin Tin Tin, and his owner, Lee Duncan, train conductor, Hamilton J. Tompkins, porters, and onlookers stand below an observation deck of a train car at the Alvarado train station in Albuquerque, New Mexico. A circular sign hangs from the observation deck’s railing reading, "California Santa Fe...." Two men in suits stand to the left of the frame and look at Rin Tin Tin. The man to the furthest left wears a straw boater hat and bowtie. Beside him, another man holds a straw boater hat in his right hand and rests his left arm on the observation deck. Lee Duncan is crouched below Rin Tin Tin who is laying on a ledge off the observation deck's railing. Lee reaches his left hand up and rests it in Rin Tin Tin's paws. He smiles and looks forward. He wears a single-breasted suit jacket with pins on the label and a striped tie. The train conductor, Hamilton J. Tompkins, stands to the right of the frame beside Rin Tin Tin and Lee with his left hand on his hip. He wears a bow tie, three-piece suit with large shinny buttons on the vest and jacket, a conductor's hat, and a watch chain attached to his vest.
